Expert Tips
- Measure your baking ingredients accurately: Check out my helpful guide on how to measure basic ingredients.
- How to check the cake is baked: By inserting a toothpick into the center. If it comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs clinging to it, the base is ready.
- Smooth Icing: For a smoother icing, sift the powdered sugar to eliminate any clumps before mixing.
- Slicing: For clean cuts, run your knife under hot water and wipe it dry between slices. This technique helps cut through the icing smoothly.
How to store coconut slice
Store: Place the coconut slices in an airtight container and store in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
Freeze: For longer storage, freeze the slices in a single layer on a baking sheet before transferring to a freezer-safe bag or container. They can be frozen for up to 3 months.
Thaw: Thaw the slices in the refrigerator overnight. For best texture, let them come to room temperature before serving.
