Vitamin C Smoothie

Vitamin C Smoothie! Overflowing with fruity abundance of strawberries, kiwi fruit, banana and kakadu plum. This skin loving smoothie will not only refresh you, it will provide you with your daily vitamin c!

Need a new go-to smoothie thats healthy and quick to make? No matter the weather, this fruity delight will keep you satisfied and thriving. I decided to add a little twist with some fresh ginger blended through, it’s ok, you really can’t taste it. A one inch piece, diced and mixed with the fruit adds a slight zing and an extra boost of nutrients.
Vitamin C from whole food sources is the best that nature provides to us. I’ve included strawberries, kiwi fruit and kakadu plum powder. If you’re unsure what kakadu plum is and why I have included it in this recipe, it’s because it’s the highest natural source of vitamin c. It’s known to have up to 100 times the vitamin c to oranges, how incredible is that?! You will see I’ve also added an option for you to use camu camu powder instead of the kakadu. Camu camu comes in a close second for potent natural vitamin c source, so you can use either, if you have them.

If you don’t have kakadu plum or camu camu powders, simply omit them for the recipe. If you’re interest in getting and trying some, I got my kakadu plum powder from Kakadu Plum Co. My camu camu powder I got from Tropeaka. I highly recommend either of these powder if you’re interested in using natural sources of vitamin c instead of ascorbic acid capsules, which provides you with only a partial vitamin c, often times synthetic.
You can also swap out the fruit if you don’t have them on hand or purchase them frozen if out of season. I would have used oranges but I didn’t have any so I opted for kiwi fruit, also a wonderful source of vitamin c.

Just like any other smoothie, it’s a simple method. Place all of your ingredients in a high speed blender and blend until smooth. Any blender will work, just as long as all of the fruit is broken down.

Enjoy this glorious beverage my friends, Sam x
