Ingredients you’ll need

Everything you need to make these coffee protein balls:

  • Almond meal – The base, adds texture and nuttiness.
  • Protein powder – Vanilla (or your flavor of choice).
  • Ground coffee beans – Or instant coffee, for a boost.
  • Almond butter – Helps bind and adds richness.
  • Maple syrup – Natural sweetness and stickiness.
  • Dark chocolate – Optional, for drizzling.

Easy substitutions

  • Different Protein Powder: Chocolate, cookies & cream, or coffee-flavored protein powders all work.
  • Nut-Free: Swap almond butter for sunflower seed butter and almond meal for oat flour.
  • Low Carb/Keto: Replace maple syrup with sugar-free syrup.
  • Extra Flavor: Add a pinch of cinnamon or cacao powder.

Samantha’s recipe tips

  • Use finely ground almond meal – Gives the best texture.
  • Don’t over-blend – Stop when the dough sticks together; over-mixing can make it oily.
  • Coffee strength – Adjust the amount of coffee for a lighter or stronger flavor.
  • Make them uniform – Use a small cookie scoop for evenly sized balls.

How to store

Keep your coffee protein balls in an airtight container in the fridge for 1 week to 10 days. For longer storage, freeze up to 2 months. Just thaw for a few minutes before eating.
