Can Milo balls be made dairy-free?

Milo Balls can also be made dairy-free by substituting regular sweetened condensed milk with a dairy-free alternative, such as sweetened condensed coconut milk. When preparing the balls, use the dairy-free condensed milk in the same manner as the traditional recipe, ensuring the mixture is cohesive enough to form balls without being too wet or sticky.

Can I make these Milo Balls gluten-free?

Milo Balls can be adapted for a gluten-free diet by using gluten-free biscuits and checking that the Milo or substitute used is also gluten-free.

When mixing the ingredients, it’s important to gradually add the condensed milk, especially with gluten-free biscuits, as they tend to absorb liquid more quickly. Add just enough condensed milk to allow the mixture to stick together when rolled into a ball, but not so much that it becomes too sloppy to hold its shape.

This careful addition ensures the balls are firm and maintain their integrity once formed.

Can I add nuts to Milo Balls?

Absolutely! Chopped nuts like almonds, pecans, or walnuts can be added to the mixture for added crunch and nutritional value. Just ensure to finely chop them so they integrate well into the balls.
