Spiced Cardamon Pears, Honey Yoghurt and a Walnut Crumb! This dish is easier than it sounds! But believe you me, it’s so incredibly tasteful! You’ll be itching to enjoy these beautiful roasted pears for your breakfast, afternoon tea or dessert, you name it, you can have it.
Each element to this dish is simple, just the way we like it here. The pears you roast in a delicious glaze for around 30 minutes, that’s the hardest part. Honey yoghurt, quick! Walnut crumb, quick! Altogether, absolutely divine!
If you don’t have the time in the morning to enjoy these pears, you can easily roast them ahead of time and have them later on in the day or even the next day. You can warm them up again for serve them cold, either way is just as yummy. You know what else wouldn’t hurt? A drizzling of dark chocolate but that’s just me, I put chocolate on most sweets, I’m sure you know that about me know 😉

- Roasted Pear
- 1 bosc pear
- 1 tablespoon coconut oil, melted
- 3 tablespoon coconut nectar, or maple syrup
- 2 teaspoon ground cardamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg
- Honey Yoghurt
- ½ cup plain yoghurt of choice, dairy free if preferred
- 1½ teaspoon honey
- Walnut Crumb
- ½ cup raw plain walnuts
- ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Pinch of Himalayan pink salt, or sea salt
- Roasted Pear
- Preheat oven to 200°C (390°F). Line a small baking tray with parchment paper and set aside.
- Slice pear in half, stem and peel left on. Core the pear with a teaspoon. Place in prepared pan.
- Combine remaining ingredients for the roasted pear in a small bowl and then brush this mixture over the pear, soaking well. You can also baste the pear during roasting with this mixture.
- Roast pear for 25-30 minutes or until soft and lightly golden.
- Whilst pear is roasting, begin remaining elements.
- Honey Yoghurt
- In a small mixing bowl, combine yoghurt and honey, mixing well to combine. Set aside.
- Walnut Crumb
- Chop walnuts into a fine but slightly chunky crumb. You can also break them down in a mortar and pestle.
- Transfer them to a small mixing bowl and add cinnamon and salt, mix well. Set aside.
- Once the pear is cooked, remove from oven and either serve warm or allow to cool down to room temperature.
- Spread yoghurt on a serving plate/bowl and gently place roasted pear halves on top.
- Sprinkle over walnut crumb.
- Serve and enjoy!
