Ingredients

For Fresh Pineapple

  • 440 g (15 oz.) of fresh pineapple cut into chunks with skin removed, about 2 cups

For Canned Pineapple

  • 1 can (15 oz. or 20 oz.) pineapple slices or chunks, drained

Instructions

  • Prepare Pineapple: If using fresh pineapple, remove the skin carefully and chop it into 2-inch chunks. For canned pineapple, drain the slices or chunks well, reserving the juice for another use.
  • Pulse: Place the fresh pineapple chunks or the drained canned slices/chunks into a food processor or blender. Pulse for 2-4 seconds until you achieve a crushed texture. Be cautious not to overprocess to avoid turning it into juice.
  • Store: Transfer the crushed pineapple into a storage container or a glass jar. If refrigerated, it can be stored for 5-7 days.

Notes

  • Store: In an airtight container within the refrigerator, where it will keep well for up to 5-7 days. For extended storage, you can freeze it in a sealed container for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator when ready to use.
