Easy Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

  • 4.4 oz. (125g) full-fat block cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 60 g unsalted butter, softened to room temperature
  • 1 1/2 cups (225g/8 oz.) powdered sugar

Instructions

  • Mixing: In a large mixing bowl using electric beaters, beat the softened cream cheese and butter for 1 minute on medium speed. Scrape down the sides.
  • Add Sugar: Sift in the powdered sugar and beat for 40 seconds on medium-high speed until well combined and whipped.
  • Frost: Best used right away on any shape 8-inch cake or spread over a batch of cupcakes, muffins or cookies!

Notes

  • Refrigerate: In an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days. Allow it to come to room temperature before using to easily spread or pipe onto desserts.
 
  • Freezing: For longer storage, freeze the frosting in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the refrigerator and then let it sit out until it reaches room temperature for re-whipping before use.
