Turmeric Charcoal Nice-Cream Bowls
Recipe type: Breakfast, Dessert
Prep time:
Total time:
Serves: Serves: 2-3
  • 4 ripe bananas, chopped and frozen
  • 1 small mango, flesh removed, chopped and frozen, or 1 cup store-bought frozen mango pieces
  • 2 Tbsp passionfruit pulp
  • ½ tsp ground turmeric
  • ½ cup almond milk or any thin dairy free milk of choice
  • Toppings
  • ¼-1/2 tsp activated charcoal powder*
  • Fresh passionfruit
  • Fresh blood orange, thinly sliced
  1. In a high-speed food processor, add frozen banana, frozen mango, passionfruit pulp, turmeric and almond milk. Pulse until smooth and creamy.
  2. Spoon mixture into serving bowls.
  3. Sprinkle or sift over activated charcoal and decorate with toppings.
  4. Serve and enjoy!
*You can find activated charcoal at your local health food stores or online. Here is the brand I used.
It’s important to have the correct usage information when it comes to consuming activated charcoal, here are a few helpful links: here and here
I only used approx. ¼-1/2 teaspoon over these two bowls. I simply added the charcoal powder to a small tea infuser and carefully sifted it over the nice-cream. This way, you won’t get those larger chunks of charcoal on your bowls.
